New Journal Launch: Cambridge Prisms - Antimicrobial Resistance to Drive Action on AMR
Laura Shallcross, Professor in Public Health & Translational Datascience, UCL and Co-Investigator of the Digital Health Hub for AMR, has been appointed Co-Editor-in-Chief of a major new journal, Cambridge Prisms: Antimicrobial Resistance, launching soon from Cambridge University Press. She will be leading the journal alongside Professor Branwen Morgan, CEO of The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).
This new open-access journal is dedicated to accelerating global action on one of the world’s most urgent health challenges: antimicrobial resistance (AMR). With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary, translational, and implementation research, bridging the gap between science, policy, and practice. The journal also prioritises an integrated, One Health approach, recognising that human, animal and environmental health are interconnected.
The journal’s mission is to serve as a forum for stakeholders across the AMR ecosystem, from clinicians, researchers, veterinarians and environmental scientists to policymakers, industry, and regulatory leaders. It will feature work that deepens understanding of AMR, highlights practical solutions and implementation pathways. Furthermore, the journal encourages research that generates evidence for action and explores systems-level thinking, ensuring that outputs are translated into real-world impact.
We’re also proud to note that Dr Jennifer Shelton (UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology), an affiliated researcher within our Hub, is part of the editorial team, helping to ensure strong representation of environmental and One Health perspectives.
